Techniques
Wrong |
In this picture, John Baldessari labelled it "Wrong" because it does not have the techniques such as, Triangles, Frames, Golden ratio, Curves, Leading lines, Figure in ground and diagonals. Although,he labelled it "Wrong", I'm assuming most of his captions to the pictures are a pun as he is making people think that is wrong. In reality, it means that he has not used the techniques also it'll make people think he randomly put "Wrong" as a caption as they can't figure out why he labelled it "Wrong". I think this a great example to show a "Wrong" picture because people presume that getting a "Wrong" picture is easy, however many people have tried and it is very difficult to capture this. The techniques that I've mentioned are not supposed to be in the picture also even taking a picture of a wall made out of bricks is not a "Wrong" picture as it includes diagonals.

Dots
Dots means to cover up the action or maybe the object in the picture with circles. This is a great technique because this is very intriguing as it'll make people think why he has covered the face, also it will make people assume what they are doing and creates an image for people in different perspective.
However, John Baldessari takes out the most obvious thing, this makes you look at everything to make you see something different in a different way. For example, in this picture above show 3 men standing in a line with covered faces, although their faces have been covered people may look at their clothes or question them self about what are the men holding. I think getting pre-existing pictures and re-configuring creates a new image or a different imagery.
Forced Perspective
Forced perspective is a technique which uses optical illusions to make objects seem as if they are further away, closer or larger than it actually is. This technique manipulates peoples vision because it can make people seem they are close to it or leaning on something e.g Eiffel Tower and you can see the relationship(correlation) between the object and the person. The three main ingredients of capturing a picture with optical illusion is to have depth of field, distance and line of sight.
Using this technique is amazing and it adds a special effect to the object or to the person because it makes people think that the person is the same height as the object or smaller. In addition, this is used in photography, film making etc. Furthermore, using forced perspective make impossible things look possible as it creates surrealism and try to do things that are impossible for example- Touching the top of Eiffel Tower which is highly unlikely.
